Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Nara Kagami-ike pond

Fri, May 12, 2017, by Muza-chan
Near the Todai-ji temple in Nara there's this pond called Kagami-ike, featuring a beautiful green island. On the island there's a small shrine dedicated to three female kami, protectors of fishermen. It is called Itsukushima, exactly like the famous Itsukushima shrine in Hiroshima.
