Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

National Treasures of Japan, Sanjusangen-do, Kyoto

Tue, April 21, 2015, by Muza-chan
On the List of National Treasures of Japan, one category lists the Buddhist temples with particular artistic or historical value, and on this category Kyoto is listed with 26 temple structures, a number second only to Nara's 29 entries.

Among these invaluable constructions, one of the most interesting (and definitely a must see for any tourist visiting Kyoto) is the Main Hall of the Sanjūsangen-dō, a 750 years old wooden building that holds the record of being the longest wooden structure from Japan.
