Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

New Year on Nakamise

Mon, January 4, 2016, by Muza-chan
Nakamise-dori, a 250 meters street leading to the Senso-ji temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, is one of the oldest and most visited commercial venues in Japan. With a history of more than 300 years, the street is lined by about 90 stores offering Japanese sweets, traditional merchandise and souvenirs.

One of the best moments to visit it is during the first days of the year when, although it is as crowded as always, it is lavishly decorated with items specific to the Japanese New Year celebration...
