Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Old narrow street in Kyoto

Sat, August 2, 2014, by Muza-chan
A bit outside the tourist areas, in Kyoto, I discovered this beautiful narrow street that still looks like 150 years ago, as it was during the Edo Period... Only the light bulb above the gate reminds of the 21st century.

The street is located between two temples, the Nishi Hongan-ji and the Kosho-ji, but until the Meiji Restoration this entire area belonged to the Nishi Hongan-ji Temple.
