Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

On the set of a samurai movie, Kyoto Eigamura

Thu, November 6, 2014, by Muza-chan
If you enjoy samurai and ninja movies, I'm sure you would love spending the day inside the Kyoto Toei Uzumasa Eigamura, a film studio and historical theme park used for a large number of jidaigeki period dramas...

Here you will find several famous buildings from Edo like the Nakamura-za Theatre, the old Nihonbashi Bridge and a street from the old Yoshiwara red light district plus some historical Kyoto spots, like the Shinsengumi headquarters.

But even more than the set constructions I enjoyed the atmosphere maintained by the live action skits played in the street, with fun and dynamism, making you feel like you're in a samurai movie...
