Ever since the 5th century, Osaka was an important location, and it was even the capital city for a few times during the 7 and 8th centuries. Largely destroyed during the WWII, Osaka doesn't have any old street preserved, however it has an excellent museum, the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living. Here you can visit streets, buildings, and interactive exhibits accurately presenting the life in Osaka during the Edo period...
