While waiting on the platform of any Japanese train station, you will often see people photographing trains. Even more so when you're on a Shinkansen platform.

It's almost like a national pastime, and it is perfectly understandable, the Shinkansen trains are a national pride and riding one is always a pleasant experience. And I'm sure you will want to take some photos too...
