Photography Expo Travel Tip, Dawn of Japanese Photography

One of my biggest passions are the historical photos and of course, those from Japan are taking the top spot... I like a lot the portraits, especially the samurai portraits.

This year, immediately after arriving in Tokyo, I had the chance of discovering a very interesting photography expo, the forth from a very interesting series: "Dawn of Japanese Photography - Hokkaido and Tohoku", presenting more than 500 photos dated between 1853 and 1900, some of the very first photos made in Japan.

The star of the expo, as you can see in the lower-right corner of my photo, is a photography of Hijikata Toshizo, the famous vice-commander of Shinsengumi.

Travel tip: The "Dawn of Japanese Photography - Hokkaido and Tohoku" expo is opened until May 6th at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography near Yebisu Garden Place, Tokyo.
