Popular Japanese food, Yakitori

Among the salary men, probably the most popular food in Japan is the yakitori. In the evening, after work, yakitori with hot sake is really delicious... (^_^)
Yakitori is prepared with small pieces of chicken meat, skin (torikawa - that's my favorite) or organs, which are prepared with salt or with a mirin, sake and soy sauce, stuck on a skewer and grilled.

I usually eat yakitori during festivals - here's a photo taken during the New Year celebrations at the Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. The friendly seller was also selling grilled shellfish, made with the same recipe. Really, really tasty...
