Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Sa-chan, the carp station master

Mon, July 9, 2018, by Muza-chan
The station master's office of the Shimabara Station (owned by the Shimabara Railway) is.. an aquarium. That's because the station master is... a nishikigoi carp, yellow like the company's trains, called Sa-chan, from the word sachi 幸 which can also meaning "happiness".

Sa-chan is 10 years old, has a length of 80 cm and a secret weight, because it's a "girl". She's floating in the aquarium together with 2 goldfish, who are named assistants to the station master, all of them bringing a smile to the face of any traveler.
Of course, you can photograph Sa-chan but sometimes she's a bit shy...
