Samurai residence in Kakunodate, Akita

The oldest samurai residence in Kakunodate, Akita, which was built during the Edo period, is partly opened for visitors (some areas are still used by the owners). It was made by the samurai family Ishiguro, who was the highest ranking retainer of the the Satake clan, in charge of the domain's finances.
