Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Shinjuku Suica Penguin

Sat, September 30, 2017, by Muza-chan
This bronze statue representing the Suica Penguin, the mascot of the JR East Suica IC card, was unveiled one year ago at the new South entrance of the JR Shinjuku Station.

Then the officials of JR East announced that they hope that this statue will become for Shinjuku what Hachiko is for Shibuya, a popular meeting place. I don't know if their wish became real, but next time I will meet someone in Shinjuku I will try to use it as meeting point.
