Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Simply beautiful Japanese scenes, Kotoji lantern illumination

Thu, March 29, 2018, by Muza-chan
In the Japanese garden, the role of the lantern is, of course, to lit up the surroundings. But few gardens are opened to visitors after nightfall, so often they are just ornaments.

Photographed here is the most famous stone lantern in Japan, the Kotoji lantern of the Kenroku-en Garden in Kanazawa, illuminated from outside, on the occasion of the autumn illuminations. Simply beautiful..
