This happened recently when, while I was traveling to Uwajima to visit Uwajima-jō and to complete the list of the 12 surviving Japanese castles, I saw from the train the restored Ōzu Castle.
While I knew about it, back when I made the plans for this trip I decided to skip it. However, the scenery was so beautiful here that I decided to shorten my stay in Uwajima, and I returned to Ōzu. It was well worth it, the castle is a great experience, rebuilt of wood by using the original techniques. And the scenery is, as you can see in the photo, simply beautiful...
