Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Snapshooting Tokyo Sky Tree

Wed, April 11, 2012, by Muza-chan
With only six weeks until the grand opening of Tokyo Sky Tree (on May 22), I noticed on the Internet a growing interest in this new symbol of Tokyo, which is now the tallest self supporting tower and the second tallest structure in the world.

I visited the tower twice a year since it started to rise, writing a couple of photo reports from the Tokyo Sky Tree construction site and I was always impressed by the enthusiasm of the people from Tokyo, attracted by the new tower ever since the beginning.

I think that by now, there are literary millions of pictures of Tokyo Sky Tree, taken by enthusiastic passers-by... as you can see in this street photo taken in January 2011, in Asakusa, nearby Azumabashi. Then, I thought of changing the focus from the tower towards the people snapshooting the tower and I enjoyed a lot the results... this one is my favorite:
