One of the things I like most about the Japanese culture is the way it preserves its traditions. Of course, historical buildings and old, long-established customs and rituals are preserved in many countries around the world.

However, the fact that in Japan the traditional clothing is still "trendy" is something very rare, and probably unique among the economically developed countries...
