Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Suizenji garden miniature Mount Fuji

Thu, September 5, 2019, by Muza-chan
Called fujizuka, miniature garden representations of Mount Fuji are present in many places in Japan, inside gardens or next to Shinto shrines.

One of the most beautiful fujizuka was built inside the Suizen-ji garden in Kumamoto, as part of a miniature landscape that represents the mountain and the famous 53 post stations of the Tokaido (the road connecting Kyoto to Edo during the Edo period).
