Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Taikobashi, Sumiyoshi Taisha, Osaka

Thu, May 17, 2018, by Muza-chan
Taikobashi, the steep arched bridge at the entrance of the Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine in Osaka, is the emblem of the shrine and a famed landscape of the city. It's role is both aesthetic and spiritual, signifying the entrance to the shrine's sacred ground.
It was restored 37 years ago, but it still has the stone pillars of the original construction.
