Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Takamatsu Castle reconstruction project

Mon, June 12, 2017, by Muza-chan
The first modern reconstruction of a Japanese castle was Osaka, rebuilt in 1928. Since then, especially during the 1960's, dozens of castles were rebuilt of concrete, preserving just the exterior look.

More recently, several castles were reconstructed by using original materials and traditional construction techniques. One of the castles currently being rebuilt is the Takamatsu castle, whose foundation was already finished and is photographed here.
