Tea House at Hama-rikyu Japanese Garden

One of the Hama-rikyu Gardens' main attractions is Nakajima-no-ochaya, the Nakajima tea house. Built over the lake, the tea house is connected with the land by O-tsutai Bashi, a 118 meters bridge made of hinoki (Japanese cypress).
The first tea house on this ground was established 300 years ago and it belonged, together with the garden, to the Tokugawa family.
The present day Nakajima-no-ochaya, renovated in 1983, is opened to the public, and you can admire the Japanese garden scenery while you're relaxing with a cup of tea, like the Shoguns used to do it...
