The 200 steps stair of Shiogama Shrine

The Shiogama Jinja is one of the most important Shinto shrines in the Miyagi Prefecture. Established more than 1200 years ago, the shrine is located on top of a large wooded hill, and from the stone torii gate at the foot of the hill to the Zuishinmon gate (visible in red on the top right of the photo) you have to climb a steep stair with 200 steps. Of course, there is also a less demanding path, but it's not nearly as spectacular...
