Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

The youkai of Fukusaki, Hitotsume kozo

Thu, September 26, 2019, by Muza-chan
Present among the Fukusaki youkai sculptures, with a shaved head, a single eye and a long tongue, Hitotsume kozo seems to be a dangerous demon. However, in the popular Japanese tradition he is one of the most peaceful youkai, and the only thing he does is talking to the passersby who encounter him late night, on deserted streets. But it is said that he stares at people so intently that a human... might faint.

Fukusaki, Hyogo
