Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

The youkai of Fukusaki, Oni bench

Sun, January 20, 2019, by Muza-chan
After the success of the first youkai benches (Gajiro), the Fukusaki town decide to continue by installing several other, and now there are 9 such youkai benches, spread throughout the town.

Photographed here is the oni bench, representing an oni youkai ("demon") in a classical style but with a strong modern touch. Red-skinned, muscular, wearing tiger-skin loincloths and carrying an iron club called kanabō, he's... taking a selfie with a smartphone...

Oni, Fukusaki, Hyogo
