Tofuku-ji southern Zen garden

Thu, May 26, 2016, by Muza-chan
Hōjō, the living quarters of the head priest, is one of the main buildings of a Zen temple. At Tofuku-ji Kyoto, hōjō is surrounded on all sides by gardens.
Photographed here is the southern garden, which is also the largest of them, a classical Zen garden representing the Elysian islands.
