Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Tokyo Architecture - Fune no Kagakukan, the ship shaped building

Mon, March 19, 2012, by Muza-chan
When you're going towards Odaiba, crossing the Rainbow Bridge, on the right side you will see, beyond the Fuji TV building, a large white ship. From that distance, the only detail indicating that it is actually a building is its tall, unusual funnel, too large to be a ship funnel and colored in red.

This is Fune no Kagakukan, the Tokyo Museum of Maritime Science. The building's design was inspired by the famous luxury liner Queen Elizabeth 2. And the unusual funnel is actually a 2 floors observatory, one of the best places to admire Odaiba from above.
