Tokyo Christmas Illuminations, Ebisu Baccarat Eternal Lights travel tip

Last year I witnessed how beautiful is Tokyo decorated for the winter holidays, but since Japan is confronting this year the worst energy crisis in history, I was worried that there will be no Christmas illuminations.
I'm a romantic and I think the Christmas lights are a powerful symbol of hope...

However, from what I learned until now Tokyo will still have many of its winter holidays lights. Some lights will be powered by solar power-generated electricity and to reduce the energy consumption, ingenious solutions were developed: the pink lights (looking like cherry-blossoms) along the banks of Meguro-gawa will be powered with energy from waste oil collected from houses and restaurants! Generally, the main inconvenient will be that the number of functioning hours will be reduced...

Here's a first photo from a "Tokyo Christmas Illuminations" series, taken in the Yebisu Garden Place, one of my favorite Tokyo areas for winter decorations. A beautiful illumination event takes place here on every year, the "Baccarat Eternal Lights", when one of the largest chandeliers in the world is lit up. It is made by the Baccarat company from 8472 crystal parts, it is 5 meters tall and 3 meters wide. And it is absolutely spectacular, with 250 lights all reflecting on the crystal...
