Tokyo Sky Tree, the most modern structure in Japan, incorporates some elements specific to the Japanese traditional architecture, such as the traditional earthquake resistant design Shimbashira-Seishin ("center column vibration control"), used in the old times for the tall, five storied wooden pagodas.

Its color also has traditional roots: it is an original shade called SKYTREE White that was inspired by aijiro, the lightest shade of Japanese traditional indigo blue...
