Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Tokyo Station wide angle night photo

As the name suggests, Tokyo Station is the most important railway station in Tokyo, especially due to the Shinkansen lines. However, if you take into account only the regular trains, Shinjuku and Ueno Station are probably surpassing it (actually Shinjuku holds the Guinness record of being the world's busiest transport hub).

There are extension plans, though, for the Tsukuba Express line (from Akihabara) and for the Utsunomiya, Takasaki and Jōban lines (between Ueno and Tokyo), plus a new connection between Tokyo Station and the Asakusa Line (for better connections between the Narita and Haneda airports) and all these will certainly boost the profile of the old Tokyo Station... Probably just in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

But what makes Tokyo Station unique is its beautiful building, which, just renovated, looks amazing, especially by night time...
