Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Lake Ashi Floating Torii

Mon, December 20, 2010, by Muza-chan
One of the symbols of the Hakone town is the huge vermilion torii from the lake Ashi.
This is a Ryōbu type torii (a gate with four legs) and it was built in 1951, in commemoration of the Peace Treaty signed by Japan with 49 nations, to formally end the World War II.
