Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Traditional Japanese boat, Yakatabune

Sun, May 26, 2019, by Muza-chan
Yakatabune are traditional Japanese pleasure boats, originally made of wood and adorned with paper lanterns, very popular during the Edo period, when the high-ranking samurai and the rich merchants were having parties on them.

Today, the yakatabune are made of light and durable fiber-reinforced plastic, but they maintained the original shape. And they are still a very popular evening entertainment.
