World's tallest statue of Confucius

With a somber construction and painted in black, the Yushima Seidō Temple from Ochanomizu, Tokyo, is known as the birthplace of scholar education in Japan. The solemn look, so different from other Japanese temples, can be explained because it was built as one of the few temples from Japan dedicated to Confucius and the style was preserved when it was rebuilt.

Today, the Yushima Seidō is popularly known as the place to go if you want to pray to pass an exam. And every time I visited, there were, indeed, a lot of students praying... But the temple also features an interesting attraction: inside, you can admire this beautiful Confucius statue, which also holds the record of being the world's tallest statue of Confucius...
