Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Yokohama Ma Zhu Miao

Sun, September 2, 2018, by Muza-chan
Erected in the Yokohama China Town 12 years ago, the Ma Zhu Miao temple is dedicated to the Chinese goddess Ma Zhu, known as the "Holy Mother of the Heaven".

There are several older Chinese temples in Japan, in places with Chinese communities such as Okinawa and Nagasaki (where the most important of them is Sofuku-ji), and in coastal areas such as Ibaraki, because Ma Zhu is a guardian deity for fishermen.
