Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Old Sake Store

Sat, July 31, 2010, by Muza-chan
This is how a sake store looked during the Edo period, with long eaves and wide entrance. The first floor has the counter and the office, while the second floor was an employee's room.
The building was donated to Taito City, then reconstructed and restored and today it is an annex of the Shitamachi Museum and can be found in Yanaka, near Nippori Station, Tokyo.
