Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Yukimi-lantern

Mon, June 6, 2016, by Muza-chan
One of the attractions in a Japanese garden is the stone lantern placed in the pond, or with two legs on the shore and one in the water. This is a type of lantern used exclusively for gardens, called yukimi-doro, which means "snow viewing lantern". The name comes from the top umbrella, which collects snow during winter.
