Yatai Mask Shop

When going to Japanese festivals, I like to browse the temporary stalls (yatai). Besides the ones selling food (I especially like those with yakisoba and icecream), I’m also attracted by Kingyo-sukui and mask shops…

Usually, there’s a wide variety of fun masks, for instance, in this Yatai shop from Kumagaya, during the Uchiwa Matsuri, there were Pokemon, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Sentai, Mickey Mouse, Thomas the Tank Engine, Doraemon, Anpanman and many more… but they had also a few masks inspired by Noh theater:
