Japanese character trains, JR Shikoku Anpanman Train

Mon, November 30, 2015, by Muza-chan

Traveling throughout Japan, you may find yourself in one of the character trains enlivening the Japanese railways. Some of them are temporary liveries, used to promote a movie or a TV series, but on several routes the character trains are permanent and their customization goes beyond the external livery.

On the JR Shikoku routes, you may encounter the cheerful Anpanman trains, decorated with characters from the popular manga created by Takashi Yanase, a mangaka originally from Kochi. Inside one of the end cars, the train also offers joyful interior decorations, which makes for an unforgettable ride for children and adults alike…
