I think that the best place to admire Yokohama from high above is from the heights of the
Yokohama Landmark Tower.
If the weather is good the landscape is stunning, and you can see as far as Hakone, the Tanzawa Mountains and sometimes, the Mount Fuji.
I was careful to visit the tower in a clear and sunny day, after a strong storm. I was able to see Tanzawa, however Fuji was hidden in the clouds.
I could have stayed there the whole day, without getting tired, admiring the view. I stayed long enough to have fun looking for known places and, of course, to take some photos.
Here's a first set of bird's eye view photos, and naturally, some landmark information. I will get back soon with a set of detailed photos.
Looking towards north-east, the 3 tall buildings in the foreground are the Queen's Tower A, B and C:
The round shaped building (intended to look like a sail) is the Yokohama Grand Inter-Continental Hotel and on its left, with the white roof, there is the
Pacifico Yokohama convention center:
To the right, we can see the Cosmo World Amusement Park, with the Cosmo World Ferris Wheel:
Pacifico Yokohama:
Īn dreapta se vede The Cosmo World Amusement Park, cu Cosmo World Ferris Wheel:
Towards south-east, in the center, red colored, there is the
Yokohama Stadium:
On the lower right corner we see the
Cross Gate (the building with the blue screen), and the tallest building in the middle is the Yokohama I-Land Tower.
Turning towards south-east, in the distance, we see the
Yokohama Bay Bridge, and the small height red buildings are the historical
Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse:
Towards north-west, in the foreground we see the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Building, and to the right , the
Yokohama Museum of Art. On the distance, in the center we can see the
Yokohama Station, and to its right, the
Yokohama Sky Building:
Towards north, the building with the big antenna is the Yokohama Media Tower:
...and we see the Portside district and, again, the
Pacifico Yokohama, on the lower right:
Finally, towards the west, we see in the distance the Tanzawa Mountains, and the tower in the middle is the NTT radio relay station, 103 meters tall. If it would have been visible, the Mount Fuji would have been seen on left of the photo:
Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.
Privind īnspre nord-vest, īn prim plan, īn centru, se vede Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Building, iar īn dreapta ei,
Yokohama Museum of Art. Īn depărtare, īn centrul imaginii, se vede
Yokohama Station, iar la dreapta ei,
Yokohama Sky Building.
