Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

5th of May, Tango no Sekku

Sat, May 5, 2018, by Muza-chan
The custom of Hina Matsuri, the "Girl's Day", has an equivalent on Tango no Sekku, the "Boy's Day". If during the Hina Matsuri celebration sets of dolls are displayed inside the home, during the Tango no Sekku the displays are... manlier: samurai helmets.

They are smaller versions of the historical kabuto, sized for the head of a baby, but made exactly as they were in the medieval period.
