Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Akihabara Uchimizu

Sun, August 1, 2010, by Muza-chan
Uchimizu is a traditional Japanese custom, consisting in splashing water on the streets, in order to cool the area, keep down the dust and to please the passersby. It is considered an illustration of the traditional Japanese values, because it combines aesthetics, utility and courtesy and is usually performed by people wearing the traditional yukata.
Today, in Akihabara, uchimizu was performed by several dozens of Akihabara Maids! And of course, they were dressed in their traditional maid costumes...;)
