Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Beautiful night in Odaiba

Mon, November 11, 2013, by Muza-chan
Odaiba is well known as one of the greatest shopping and entertainment districts in Tokyo, a place for all ages, filled with malls, parks, a huge ferris wheel, an onsen and even a life-size Gundam statue... but it wasn't always like this... Originally there were 6 almost empty artificial islands, built by the Tokugawa shogunate after the arrival of Commodore Matthew Perry (in 1853), to defend Edo against an eventual attack from the sea.

The Odaiba we know today started developing only 20 years ago and it's still in development. It is one of my favorite places for a night stroll, with several great promenades like the one in this photo, located near the Aqua City mall...
