Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Bitchu Matsuyama Castle artistic manhole cover

Tue, January 12, 2016, by Muza-chan
For tourists passionate about history, the Takahashi city of the Okayama Prefecture offers many objectives, such as well preserved samurai houses or beautiful temples, but the main attraction is, of course, the Bitchū Matsuyama castle, one of the 12 original castles in Japan.

Hence, the decorated manhole covers of the city are painted to represent this magnificent castle. The trip to the castle takes 20 minutes of quite steep climbing, but the effort is well worth it...
