One of the most spectacular and environmentally friendly constructions in Japan is... a bus terminal. The architectural solution selected for the Nagoya Oasis 21 combines a modern design with innovative solutions to some of the unpleasant problems raised by a bus terminal.

Usually, a bus terminal is polluted with exhaust when located indoors, and it's too hot during summer time... In Oasis 21, the terminal is located on a semi-basement floor, provided with natural light, and the huge, sci-fi looking Spaceship Aqua roof acts as a giant cooler...
