Here you will find a large, greatly preserved historical area, with merchant houses built in the famed kurazukuri style and you can even enjoy the sound of the Toki-no-Kane "Bell of Time", a 350 years old bell, symbol of the city.
Travel tip: To visit Kawagoe, you can take a train from the Ikebukuro Station. The fastest and most economical line is the Tōbu Tōjō Line Express, which takes just 30 minutes and costs ¥450 (about $4.5).
