Originally built in 1537 by the uncle of Oda Nobunaga, Oda Nobuyasu, the Inuyama castle claims an important record, that of the oldest Japanese castle (however, it seems that its main tower is a little bit younger). The castle's interior is amazingly well preserved and the view from the top floor towards the river Kiso is simply beautiful... And a big plus for the view and the atmosphere is that the observation deck from the top floor was left unchanged, without the safety nets that can be seen almost everywhere in Japan...
