Owakudani Hot Springs

I wrote before about the Owakudani crater and the volcanic activity going on, with the sulfur vents, hot springs and hot ponds...
This is one of the hot ponds along the walking trail, where from time to time a burst of hot water indicates the underground boiling.

I enjoy photographing the bursts of water, but after the sulfurous air got into my nose, I felt that smell the whole day long...
