Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Shorinzan Darumaji museum

Tue, September 20, 2016, by Muza-chan
The temple Shorinzan Darumaji in Takasaki, Gunma, is the birth place of one of the most popular Japanese good luck charms, the Daruma doll. A small but well curated museum operates inside the temple grounds, presenting an astonishing variety of Daruma dolls, and also a collection of statues representing the legendary founder of Zen Buddhism, Bodhidharma.
