Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Tokyo Architecture, Bunkyo Civic Center

Tue, August 14, 2012, by Muza-chan
From the many skyscrapers in Tokyo, I would like to show you today a lesser-known one, the Bunkyō ward's government building, Bunkyō Civic Center 「文京シビックセンター」.

Like the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Bunkyō Civic Center features an observatory which even though it is not as tall, being located at the 25th floor, 105 meters above ground, has the advantage of a beautiful view towards the Tokyo Dome City, Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden and Ikebukuro. Inaugurated in 1994, it is 146 meters tall and it draws attention with an interesting design: the circular observatory protrudes from the face of the building, like the bridge of a ship...
