Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Tsuchi ningyo, Hina Matsuri dolls

Thu, September 12, 2019, by Muza-chan
Tsuchi ningyo are a type of Japanese clay dolls with simple shapes but carefully painted, very popular in the past in many parts of the country. Although their popularity decreased in modern times, they are sought-after by collectors. Photographed here are two tsuchi ningyo dolls for Hina Matsuri, made in Nagoya.
