Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Visiting Nara, tranquil times at Todaiji Nigatsu-do

Tue, June 9, 2015, by Muza-chan
Besides the world famous Great Buddha Hall (Daibutsuden), the Todaiji Temple of Nara offers several more impressive structures, some of them a little less frequented by tourists. From behind the hall, climb through the forest a few hundred meters and you will reach the spectacular Nigatsu-dō "Hall of the Second Month".

Built in 1669 on wooden pillars, Nigatsu-dō is an amazingly beautiful construction located in the middle of a magnificent landscape. And since it is a bit farther from the main attractions, is also a tranquil and relaxing place...
