Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Yozakura

Fri, March 23, 2018, by Muza-chan
Yozakura is the Japanese tradition of admiring blooming cherry trees with night illumination, and it is a lot older than electric lighting... In the old times, it was done with wood burning and traditional lanterns.

Today, the best sakura trees have especially designed illuminations, a beautiful example being the Gion Shidare Sakura in the Maruyama park, Kyoto.
